21 Savage Joins Calvin Harris On ‘New Money’

21 Savage, who had just released Drake and his No. 1 single “Jimmy Cooks,” announced that he had joined Calvin Harris on “New Money.”

Just in time for the fourth July weekend, the duo slides with a heater. On Harris’ choppy production, 21 stretches wild wordplay.

“Rap nias come around Savage, get screwed / Fk my best partner, make that bitch drop him / Never sold drugs, ni**a, I’m a robber,” he raps.

New Money” is based on Harris‘ upcoming album Funk Wav Bounces Vol. From 2, Dua follows “Potion” with Lipa and Young Thug. Earlier in the week, he announced the star-studded lineup, which included Snoop Dogg, Pharrell, Justin Timberlake, Busta Rhymes, Normani, Lil Durk, Pusha T, Chlöe, Tinashe, 6LACK, Lotto, and more.

Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 2 is the sequel to Harris’ hit “Slide” with Frank Ocean and Migos, as well as his 2017 album featuring Future, Travis Scott, Nicki Minaj, Young Thug, Pharrell, Ariana Grande and more.

Pharrell, 21 SAVAGE, And Tyler, The Creator Team Up On ‘CASH IN CASH OUT’

Pharrell21 Savage, and Tyler The Creator connect with “Cash In Cash Out.”

On Pharrell’s million-dollar instrumental, 21 and Tyler leave flashy strings to the money-making anthem featuring a hook to stick in your head all summer long.

While rapping 21 in the line “Money turned me into a jerk / I’m not going to lie, I was used to being poor,” Tyler brags about turning down a $2.5 million concert (“I declined because the stage didn’t fit my morals”).

21 Savage Is Quite Active These Days

In an interview with Apple Music, Pharrell talked about the collaboration. “I knew the track was aggressive and he doesn’t give up. “So it’s like they’re both. It’s like letting two pit bulls unwind. Predatory. Two greedy wolves… Tyler freaked out. He made this line before he released his last album.”

And there may be even more music on the way. “I miss him. That’s probably the most I can say,” said the Neptunes hitter.I don’t know if you can say it or not, just based on everything that’s going on. I just, miss, Pusha, Jack, Kendrick, that. I’m excited.”

The song precedes Pharrell’s Something in the Water festival, which will take place on Juneteenth weekend (June 17-19) in Washington, D.C. and will be streamed live on Amazon Music.

21 Savage and Tyler will perform alongside Usher, Lil Baby, Ashanti and Ja Rule. Pharrell will also perform with special guests Clipse, Justin Timberlake, N.O.R.E., Q-TIP, and SZA.
