2021 American Music Awards Winners
The American Music Awards have found their winners. The 49th American Music Awards were held in Microsoft theater, Los Angeles. The amazing night was hosted by Cardi B and Queen Latifah.
In the night we witnessed many performances, names such as Jeniffer Lopez, Chlöe, Tyler, the Creator took the stage.
Chlöe swept the stage with her debut song “Have Mercy” and left her mark on the American Music Awards as well as at MTV’s VMA
Artist of the Year
BTS won the Artist of the Year award, for which names such as Ariana Grande, Drake, and The Weeknd were nominated. BTS also performed with Coldplay at the AMA with the song “My Universe”
Favorite Music Video
Lil Nas X continues to collect awards. Lil Nas X, who left MTV’s VMA a few months ago with 3 awards, did not pass the AMA.
Lil Nas X won the Favorite Music Video award with the song “Montero” in the category for which names such as Cardi B and The Weeknd were nominated.
Collaboration of the Year, Favorite Female Artist(R&B), Favorite Album(R&B)
Another name that marked the night was Doja Cat. The famous singer, who closed the night with 3 awards, was awarded the Collabs of the Year, Favorite Female Artist, and Favorite Album awards.
Doja Cat, who achieved success with her album “Planet Her” released on 25 June 2021, won the Collabs of the Year award with her duet “Kiss Me More” with SZA.
Favorite Male Artist
The legendary rapper, who released his 6th studio album with his Certified Lover Boy, took the Billboard Hot 100 hostage.
While all the songs of the album debuted on the Billboard Hot 100, 9 songs reached the top 10. The album sold 600,000 copies in its first week and peaked at #1 on Billboard.
With the success brought by the viral album, the Grammy-winning artist also won an award at the AMA.
Favorite Female Artist(Hip-Hop), Favorite Album(Hip-Hop), Favorite Trending Song
Another trio came from Megan the Stallion. The American rapper, born in Texas in 1995, made his debut with the album Good News, which he released in 2020.
The song “Savage Remix” with Beyonce in the album made it to #1 on Billboard for the first time.
Megan, who went viral with her song “Body”, also won the Favorite Trending Song award and closed the night with 3 awards.
