Additional Charges Brought Against Young Dolph Murder Suspect

Suspects in Young Dolph ‘s murder will appear in a Memphis courtroom on Wednesday, January 17.

Details emerged about one of the suspects. Justin Johnson was also arrested for violating sex offender registration charges, according to ABC24 Memphis.

It was learned that Johnson, who was accused of killing Young Dolph along with 32-year-old Cornelius Smith, was arrested in 2015 and charged with aggravated rape and theft when he was only 17 years old. Despite sending a $5,000 bond to the charge, Johnson still remained in jail on murder charges.

Authorities also say Johnson is a man with a very criminal history, including serving nine months in prison for a triple shot in a bowling alley in 2017 and being charged with drugs and guns in May 2018. Both Johnson and Smith were charged separately on Tuesday (January 11th) with first-degree intentional murder and attempted first-degree murder.

Also, the accusations did not end there. The two suspects were also charged with using firearms in the commission of a dangerous crime, as well as criminals in possession of firearms.

Each of these individuals was also charged with theft of more than $10,000 in property allegedly for car theft in the week the car was used as a getaway vehicle.

Johnson was apprehended by US Police in Indiana, while Smith was arrested and placed in Shelby County Penitentiary. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the U.S. Police Department, and the Memphis Police Department had been searching across the country for about a week.

Authorities also arrested 26-year-old Shundale Barnett. According to hiphopdx.com, Barnett is facing charges, including complicity, after first-degree murder.

The Latest Prior to Young Dolph Murder

On an Instagram page reportedly belonging to Johnson, he previously wrote, “I feel innocent on Monday @201. I‘ll be back sooner than you can wink. ”

In addition to the first-degree murder warrant in Dolph‘s death, Johnson also has a warrant for violating federal probation for an earlier weapons charge.
