Big Success for Drake. His CLB Sold 600,000 First Week!
Drake’s sixth album, Certified Lover Boy, is already breaking sales records and is on track to see an even more successful first week of sales. Drake know this game.
Complex writes that Drake will have between 45,000 and 55,000 albums sold in its first week. Certified Lover Boy is also expected to draw between 650 million and 700 million streams by the end of this week, according to Chart Data.
Drake’s song ‘Certified Lover Boy’ broke Spotify’s record for most albums in a day. The Toronto-born star’s newest release is also the most-streamed album on Apple Music in one day. Before the release of Certified Lover Boy Friday (September 3), Kanye West held the record with his album Donda. CLB’s passing Donda undoubtedly delighted Drake.
According to HitsDailyDouble, Certified Lover Boy expects sales of 575,000-625,000 units in the first week. That total is more than enough for Drake to top the Billboard 200, giving him the highest first-week numbers for 2021.

However, the Certified Lover Boy’s 600,000 units may seem like a drop when we consider the Scorpion album in 2018. While the Scorpion was 732,000 units, the Certified Lover Boy remained at 625,000 units. Drake managed to collect 1.04 million copies for 2016’s album Views.

Do You Think It’s Coming A New Record for Drake?
If Certified Lover Boy hits the top spot on the Billboard 200, Drake will add his name to an impressive list. This will mark the 34-year-old superstar’s tenth career number one and will take him to the top with Eminem and Kanye West. He will be one of the most “number one” names as a rapper.
