Playboy has announced that Cardi B will be its first Creative Director at Residence. The 29-year-old Grammy-winning rapper Playboy’s Instagram account reads, “It’s a dream come true to officially join the Playboy family. I can’t believe this is real.” said.
Of course, wearing a diamond-encrusted Playboy Bunny necklace, Cardi B continued, “For as long as I can remember, I’ve felt connected to Playboy. It’s truly the original platform for uncensored creativity and I’m inspired by its incredible legacy of fighting for personal freedoms. I have so many ideas already – I can’t wait!”
Another news announced on her Instagram account is that Cardi B will not only be Creative Director at Residence, but will also be a founding member of Playboy’s digital platform Centerfold.
According to Forbes, Centerfold allows content creators to communicate directly with their followers and acts as an e-commerce platform for followers to purchase Playboy products.
Ben Kohn, CEO of PLBY Group Inc., which owns Playboy, spoke to Bloomberg. “Our new creator-led service, Centerfold, will build upon Playboy’s long history providing leading voices with a safe platform for creative expression.”
PLBY Group Inc. completed its $30 million acquisition of social content platform Dream in October. Dream’s technological system will serve as an infrastructure for Centerfold.
Playboy’s Centerfold looks set to launch later this month.
