Charlamagne Tha God criticises Kanye West’s ‘DONDA’ album
Charlamagne Tha God Earlier this week , Charlamagne spoke to DJ Envy and Angela Yee on The Breakfast Club and offered his two cents on the new record.
Envy admitted that he has yet to listen to it and does not plan to because of Kanye’s attitude as of late. He also went as far as calling him a “clown,” to which Charlamagne immediately gave his input. Though he liked some of the tracks, he said that the album as a whole did not entirely sit well with him.
On Monday morning (Aug. 30), Power 105’s The Breakfast Club cohosts Charlamagne Tha God, DJ Envy and Angela Yee shared their thoughts on ’Ye’s project during a segment on their morning radio show. Charlamagne was very critical of the album and highlighted some of its downsides.
“Upon first listen, it was lackluster for me upon first listen,” he said. “It’s an hour and 49 minutes long. So, like Kanye West, it can be exhausting.”
However, Charlamagne added that if Kanye removed at least 12 songs on the album, it would have been “a great album.”
“But 28 songs with all the part twos, an hour 48 minutes, it’s too long and it drags to me. And the music sounds kinda dated,” he said.
Listen to The Breakfast Club’s segment below. Fast forward to the 1-minute mark to hear Charlamagne Tha God’s review of Kanye West’s Donda album. DJ Envy’s remarks start at the beginning.
