Diddy Responds to Yung Miami Holding Up ‘Go Papi!’ Sign for Him at BET Awards
Yung Miami created a viral moment at the BET Awards last week when he held up a banner that read “Go Papi!” for Diddy, who was dating. Now the founder of Bad Boy Records offered his response to the sign in a post shared on Instagram.
“This is one of the sweetest things anyone has ever done for me!” wrote Diddy, next to a photo of the City Girls rapper removing the sign. “Thank you, Shawty Wop!” At the time, Diddy was on stage accepting the Lifetime Achievement Award, and even Kanye West had a special surprise to honor him.

The moment caused a bit of a stir online, especially since he didn’t appear to acknowledge the sign at any point. The pair were rumored to be dating for quite some time, but they only confirmed it for real this year after they both kept denying it in various interviews. Some suggested that he wasn’t showing love or respect to his girlfriend, which Miami countered against on Twitter.
One user criticized Diddy for thanking “every woman in his life” during his speech, with the exception of Miami. “Girl please!” Miami simply replied.

Even her City Girls bandmate JT had something to say about the response. “Bitch don’t play crazy not a bitch that can be seen touched & identified trying to viral… ok, alright,” she wrote.

Diddy got what he wanted.
Sean “Diddy” Combs received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2022 BET Awards and received an all-star award worthy of a king, starting with JAY-Z.
“Here’s this guy who came from a neighborhood similar to where I grew up and reached these unattainable heights,” Hov said as he honored the other icon in the opening video montage. “Puff was the first to come in and the first to make us feel like we were.”
