Uncle Murda released his annual single “Rap Up” on New Year‘s Eve, December 31, and came up with 14 minutes of irreverent bars, as expected. Lil Nas X, Tyler The Creator, Freddie Gibbs and Will Smith were just one of the people targeted in 2021. But so far, Gangsta Gibbs has been one of the only rappers to respond to the slanderous song.
On Saturday, January 1st, Gibbs gave voice to all New York rappers in his Instagram Stories: I‘ve got a lot of NY rappers in right now. I can‘t wait to go and show you all how to sell. byke byke. “NYC should be ashamed of the ass n-ggaz who doesn‘t rap. This is my mess now. ”
Gibbs‘ online rival Akademiks happily re-tweeted the Alfredo rapper‘s feelings, writing: “FEDRICK Gibbs was beaten by one New York rapper and dissected by another, now he‘s calling all of New York. @FreddieGibbs where uncle Jim Jones n Has the same troll energy for Murda N-gga. ”

Uncle Murda responded to his claim that he had a fight with Jim Jones at Prime 112 in Miami and dedicated several lines to Freddie Gibbs on “Rap Up” referring to his Grammy Award nomination and law enforcement relatives.
“Let me smoke a blunt right now and get in my zone,” he spit. “Academics said Freddie Gibbs got beat up by Jim Jones/Not a big fan of his own not rock with him/That be Elliott ad B. Dot giving all those props to him/So when he talks tough we don‘t believe what he says/His father a cop and his brother down with the DEA.
“Yeah, I ain’t like his reaction when Nas won the Grammy/He never lost in court ’cause law enforcement is his family/I know I ain’t the only one who feel like he hated/Freddie album ain’t deserve to be Grammy nominated.”
