Jay Electronica Praises Drake

Jay Electronica is one of the first hip hop stars that comes to mind when it comes to lyricism. Lastly, he spoke highly of Drake.

On Saturday, January 22, Electronica took to Twitter to praise the Kanye West and The Game collaboration single “Eazy”. He commented on Drake’s work on “Champagne Poetry,” the opening ceremony for the Toronto rapper’s Certified Lover Boy album.

“For Drake ‘s bars on Champagne Poetry alone, his face gets carved in the pyramids,” Electronica wrote.

”I know I tend to talk about how I got a fortune on me,” he raps. “But with that comes the politics the city been forcing on me/Man, I can’t even R.I.P. and show my remorse to the homie/Know I carry the guilt of the city’s misfortunes on me.”

Empowered by the song “Champagne Poetry”, Certified Lover Boy continued Drake’s #1 album streak on the Billboard 200 and broke record after record on Apple and Spotify. He became one of the most listened singers on Spotify in 2021, he never came down from the top.

Jay Electronica’s love for Drake isn’t limited to his lyricist statements. In 2018, Electronica sang “Feel No Ways” to Erykah Badu, who herself was not too impressed with Drake’s 2016 album Views.

She deleted the video from her Instagram account, but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t like Drake and has changed her mind.
