Kanye West is close to confirming his place as he prepares to perform on Sundays, April 17 and 24, Billboard reported. The Sunday Service is expected to take part in the April 17 performance, coinciding with Easter Sunday.
Coachella promoter Goldenvoice is expected to make an official announcement about the festival lineup this week and announce Kanye West. The reunited EDM trio Swedish House Mafia is said to be the third headline.
The sold-out festival is scheduled to take place at the usual site of the Empire Polo Ground in Indio, Calif. The festival was postponed four times due to the pandemic. The original headlines were Travis Scott, Frank Ocean and Rage Against the Machine. Travis Scott was removed from the list last month following the Astroworld tragedy in November.
However, there are concerns that the festival could be further postponed due to the alarming omicron surge. Earlier this week, January‘s Grammy Awards were postponed indefinitely after discussions with city officials, health and safety experts. It‘s only a matter of time before postponed this concert because of the recently increased Omicron virus.
