Kendrick Lamar ‘s New Album Sales Projections Are In
Kendrick Lamar is back in business. Last week, the Compton rapper announced the arrival of his long-awaited fifth studio album, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, on May 13. Even though it’s still three weeks behind, sales forecasts already exist.
Kendrick’s first album in five years is expected to be released around 350,000 equivalent album units, according to preliminary estimates from hits daily double.
Kendrick’s 2017 album DAMN. it opened with 603,000 before selling 11 million units worldwide. HITS said Kendrick’s new version would “almost certainly promote an equally intense level of consumption,” while mostly happening on streaming services.
Although the numbers were lower, the industry had to reassess the concept of a large first week number. When Kendrick released DAMN., album sales took on a more meaningful factor, and packaging was also allowed. Streaming has since become the dominant consumption platform.

That figure will allow Kendrick to easily pass the biggest first week of 2022.
Gunna currently holds the title with DS4EVER, which opened in January with 150,300 equivalent album units.
In August, the founder of pgLang announced that this would be his last album for TDE. “When I produced my last TDE album, I am delighted to be part of such a cultural stigma 17 years later,” he wrote in an open letter. “There’s beauty in completion. And always faith in the unknown.”
Following the album announcement, Kendrick returned to the stage as a surprise guest on the set of Coachella, where Baby Keem performed “Family Ties” and “Vent.”
Kendrick Lamar Attends Dodgers Game After Album Announcement
Less than 48 hours after announcing his new album, Kendrick Lamar seems to be back in the public eye.
The Compton king attends a Dodgers vs Braves game at Dodger Stadium in his hometown of Los Angeles on Tuesday, April 19. But while he may have the best seats in the stadium, the “HUMBLE” rapper sat among the fans at the Right Field Pavilion instead. He kept a low key in a bucket hat, sunglasses and grey sweatshirt as she interacted with the crowd and took selfies.
The official Dodgers Twitter account posted a photo of King Kendrick with the caption, “Don’t address him unless it’s in four letters.”
The sight came just a day after Kendrick announced his fifth studio album, Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers, in a letter posted on the oklama.com website. Long-awaited follow-up to damn of 2017. He’ll be back on May 13th.
It has since updated its website with hundreds of folder icons that caused 404 errors.
