Tyler The Creator Shades Dj Khaled After Grammy Win
Tyler The Creator took home his second Grammy at sunday’s awards ceremony.
While Tyler The Creator wasn’t there to personally admit it, he addressed naysayers who bet against him after he started talking during a live stream on Instagram to celebrate the big win for Best Rap Album for Call Me If You Get Lost.
“I would like to thank everyone who was angry that I took it home last year, so I reversed it and got it again,” said Tyler, who previously won the Grammy for Best Rap Album for IGOR in 2019.
He continued, “And I know you’re seething and angry and [saying] ‘No one listens to that album,’ these arena tours that are selling out says different,” said Tyler, referencing his current “Call Me If You Get Lost” tour.

While he didn’t mention him by name, some interpreted his comments as a shot at DJ Khaled, who previously shaded Tyler after his album Father of Asahd debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 behind Tyler’s IGOR.
“I make albums so people can play it and you actually hear it,” Khaled wrote in a since-deleted tweet from June 2019. “It’s called albums that you actually hear the songs. Not no mysterious shit that you never hear it.”

Tyler later addressed Khaled’s comments. “That Khaled thing, it was fun. It was just watching a man die inside because the weirdo is winning,” he told “The Breakfast Club.” “I was moonwalking in a wig. This ni**a had everyone on his album, everyone!”
In addition to shading Khaled, a grateful Tyler thanked his team. “Thank you to these blessings that keep happening where I could just make an album where I just flex all goddamn day,” he said before sharing some inspirational words. “If you put that much energy into something, maybe everyone will be proud of you too.”
