Wiz Khalifa Says He Was Banned From Met Gala For Smoking
Wiz Khalifa ‘s Met Gala appearance was cancelled due to smoke.
The superstar subcontractor explained that she wasn’t invited to attend fashion’s biggest night because she feared organizers would smoke on the red carpet. “They were afraid I’d smoke on the red carpet or at the event, so they didn’t meet the premiere,” the Taylor Gang rapper told his Twitter followers on Monday.
Wiz said that while he understands their location, marijuana is legal in New York, where the event is held annually. “I don’t blame them, but weed is legal, my friend, sheesh.”
When a fan told him that met gala organizers would “go back to their senses,” Wiz said: “… I’m not a trippin.”

It’s been four years since Wiz last attended the Met Gala, but apparently he wasn’t asked back after lighting up a doobie on the red carpet.
“I did it last time and they freaked out apparently. With a doob of course,” said Wiz, who also attended in 2016 and 2017.

While Wiz wasn’t on this year’s guest list, his rap peers were in attendance including Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, Future, Kid Cudi, Megan Thee Stallion, and more.
Wiz isn’t the only celebrity who hasn’t been invited back to the Met Gala. Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, who oversees the guest list, revealed that former President Donald Trump was no longer welcome.
However, Wiz may have plans to return next year. “I’ll just be buffer and more stoned next year anyway,” he added.

The track comes from the upcoming collab album by three artists, along with Smoke DZA, Full Court Press.
(Various songs, including “How the Story Goes“, do not include DZA.) The single finds that Wiz has entered the earlier west coast aesthetic of girl talk’s production and always gliding over reliable bars K.R.I.T.
In explaining how the song came together, Girl Talk explained that Wiz acted as the anchor that K.R.I.T. built his contribution after the “Taylor Gang” rapper was able to find a nice pocket.
